BAR OPS CORPS[1]
The Bar Operations shall primarily be spearheaded by the Bar Ops Corps, with the joint support and administration coming from the College of Law Faculty and Law Student Government Board.
The LSG Governor, LSG Adviser, and the Dean shall cause the composition of the Bar Ops Corps, in which the committee shall be headed by the Bar Ops Corps Chairperson. The Special Order on the composition of student members and volunteers comprising the Bar Ops Corps shall be issued on the first month of the second semester of the academic year. The LSG Adviser shall be the ex-officio adviser of the Bar Ops Corps.
The Bar Ops Corps Chairperson from the previous Bar Operations shall be consulted on the issues encountered from the previous Bar Operations, the prospective students who will spearhead the different committees, the best practices to maintain, and the recommended innovations to better support our barristers.
Members of the Bar Ops Corps shall principally be comprised by the incoming Juris Doctor 3 class, with the assistance of volunteers from the incoming lower year levels of the next academic year. The number of volunteers from the lower year levels shall be proportional to the objectives of preserving the continuity of the best practices of the bar operations and to the exposure of the freshmen of the traditions and the trajectory of their lives when their time comes to take the helm in rendering support to our barristers and when they too will take the bar examinations.
In the best interest for their review, graduating Juris Doctor 4 students shall no longer be required to officially volunteer for the Bar Operations, to the exception of Juris Doctor 4 students who are incumbent members of the Law Student Government Board.
The chairperson and the chair of the different committees are obliged to judiciously perform their functions. The volunteers are likewise expected to fulfill tasks delegated to them.
The Bar Ops Corps Chairperson shall be responsible for preparatory activities such as drafting and processing of the operational plan, overseeing the bar ops proper activities, and post-bar ops activities
Likewise, he or she is obligated to perform the inherent duties and responsibilities that attaches to his or her function. Further, he or she is expected to take responsibility of any errors, mishaps, or misjudgments committed by him or her, and all the members and volunteers of the Bar Ops Corps.
The Bar Ops Corps is an autonomous organization. It is separate and distinct from the Law Student Government Board. The Bar Ops Corps’ choices, decisions, and pronouncements must be accorded with great authority and respect by all law students.
RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS[2]
All official Bar Ops Corps members and volunteers shall be entitled to a daily meal allowance in the sum of Two Hundred and Forty (P240.00) Pesos. Further, all members and volunteers shall receive the appropriate Bar Ops merchandise in the form of a T-shirt or jacket. The preceding shall be subject to the availability of the Bar Ops Fund.
If any member or volunteer witness or experience any acts of impropriety committed by any member or volunteer, he or she may report the complained acts to the Dean, the Bar Ops Adviser, or any member of the LSG Board for a speedy resolution or disciplinary action.
PRIVILEGES OF BARRISTERS[3]
All barristers are entitled to the standard privileges such as bar kits and merchandise, meals, printing of LMTs, and other forms of aid and support rendered by the Bar Ops Corps, subject the limitations of the allotted budget by the Law Student Government Board and the UNP Administration. Other special requests may be entertained as long as the same are reasonable and conscionable and subject to budgetary restrictions.
COMMITTEES
Executive Committee.[4] The Executive Committee shall be composed of the dean, faculty members, LSG and member volunteers. There shall be a chairperson in charge. It shall be in charge of the overall planning of the Bar Ops at least five (5) months prior the announced schedule of the Bar Examinations. It shall likewise prepare the operational plan. After the Bar Operations, it shall require all committees to fill up and submit an evaluation form pertaining to the conduct of the recently concluded bar operations. Further, it shall require all committees to submit a narrative report and other pertinent reports such as financial reports not later than two (2) weeks after the last day of the bar examinations.
Secretariat Committee.[5] The Secretariat Committee shall have its own chairperson in charge and which shall focus on the following tasks:
Finance and Solicitation Committee. [6]The Finance and Solicitation Committee shall have its own chairperson in charge and which shall be responsible for the processing and record keeping of
Academics Committee.[7] The Academics Committee shall have a Chairperson in charge and shall be in charge of the drafting, revising, printing, and production of relevant materials needed by the bar examinees. The committee is subdivided into two committees: 1) Balligi Notes Committee and 2) Pre-Week/Last Minute Tips Committee.
Hotel and Logistics Committee.[10] Hotel and Logistics Committee shall be composed of student volunteers. It shall be in charge of scouting and securing hotel or similar accommodations for the bar examinees, their parents/relatives, the committees, and the faculty for the duration of the scheduled bar examinations. It shall also be in charge of securing the venue and all aliments for the After Shock Party. It is also in charge of securing transportation vehicles to be used for the bar operations. It shall prepare the travel itinerary for the different bar-proper committees during the scheduled examination dates.
Pre-Bar Committee.[11] The Pre-Bar Committee is subdivided into two committees: 1) Merch and Bar Kits Committee and 2) Social Media and Documentation Committee.
Bar Proper Committee.[14] The Bar Proper Committee is subdivided into three committees: 1) Salubong Committee, 2) Sundo Committee, and 3) After Shock Party Committee.
SLOGAN OR RALLYING CALL/CRY
In sticking with tradition, the following official slogan or rallying call/cry for all bar operations shall be utilized in publication materials, merchandise, and other forms of media:[18]
