Graduation

REQUIREMENTS[1]

The University of Northern Philippines confers the degree of Juris Doctor only upon the recommendation of the Dean of the College of Law, with the concurrence of majority of the members of the College of Law faculty. To qualify, a student must satisfy the following requirements:

  1. He/she must have taken and passed all the courses prescribed in the UNP Juris Doctor Curriculum;
  2. The student should have no derogatory record;
  3. He/she must have complied with all the other requirements prescribed in the University Student Handbook.

GRADUATION HONORS[2]

Honors may be awarded to graduating students of the College of Law subject to the following conditions:

  1. The candidate must have completed the entire law course at the UNP College of Law;
  2. The candidate must have taken during each semester of residency the regular load only without any overload;
  3. The candidate must not have failed/incomplete/dropped in any course during the entire residency in the College; and
  4. The candidate must satisfy the guidelines for academic honors in the University Student Handbook, except when the guideline is particular to the College.

The following honors may be awarded for the following:

Cum Laude1.5-1.75
Magna Cum Laude1.21-1.5
Summa Cum Laude1.2-1.0
