Mini-Library

The College of Law Mini-Library is open from Mondays to Fridays at 8:00AM to 5:00 PM. The following are the general rules to be observed by law students when using the library:[1]

  1. UNP students with properly validated library cards and faculty/employees shall be allowed to borrow information resources.
  2. Silence must be strictly observed inside the mini-library.
  3. Littering, eating and sleeping are prohibited in the mini-library.
  4. Tampering, mutilation, stealing of information sources (or part of it) and forging library documents are punishable or subjected to disciplinary action.
  5. All mini-library users are subjected to control procedures at the control area.
  6. Min-library services are suspended two (2) weeks before the final examination for the signing of clearances.
  7. Reserved books are read only in the library for the period of one hour. Extension of additional hour is granted if the book is not needed by another user.
  8. Students may borrow three (3) books at a time; UNP faculty are allowed to borrow three (3) books as reference for the subject they teachl UNP employees whether casual or part time basis are also allowed to borrow two (2) books at a time.
  9. Outside researchers may also sue the information sources of the Mini-Library with the following requirement: a research fee of P25.00 to be paid at the Cashier’s Office, a referral letter, and Identification Card/Library Cards.
  10. Librarians are informed beforehand when Audio-Visual materials are used for classroom use during Mondays to Fridays and in the Mini-Library on Saturdays. Such Audio-Video facilities should be of curricular relevance.
  11. Books borrowed for overnight use are charge at 3:00PM and shall be returned the following day not later than 12:00 noon. A fine of P1.00/hour is levied on books which are returned late. Photocopying information sources outside premises should be 10-15 minutes only. A fine of P1.00/hour is levied on books not returned after 15 minutes. Said fine must be paid at the Cashier’s Office.
  12. Books damaged/lost must be replaced or paid on its current prices plus 10% for the technical preparation.
  13. Designated In-charge for College Resource Centers shall be responsible for the smooth operation of the assigned area. In-charge of these centers shall countersign clearance of students and employees before the Head of the Library Services Office will sign.
  14. Simultaneous borrowing from two (2) or more libraries is not allowed. The readers should borrow from one library at a time.
  15. General reference materials are read only in the library and they cannot be brough out for home use. These includes encyclopedias, atlases, manuals, handbooks, yearbooks, dictionaries, almanacs, directories, theses/dissertations/research proposals, and newspapers, magazines, journals and Vertical files e.g. Clippings, Pamphlets.
  16. The Student Resource Center (SRC) in the University Library is open for free internet services to students from Mondays to Fridays at 8:00AM to 4:00PM. However, printing services will be paid by interested students.
  17. Graduate students may avail free encoding and internet searching. However, printing is on a pay-per copy scheme.
