ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS[1]

The applicant must be a holder of Bachelor of Arts or Science degree and must have earned at least eighteen (18) units in English, eighteen (18) units in Social Science and six (6) units in Mathematics.

Applicants with insufficient units in English, Social Sciences, and Mathematics may be admitted for enrollment provided they sign and undertaking stating:

  1. That he/she undertakes to enroll the lacking units in these subjects in the same semester they enroll in the College of Law;
  2. That they have to garner a passing grade in these enrolled subjects, and to submit their grades to the College before enrolling in the 2nd Semester;
  3. That should they fail to pass these subjects of should they fail to enroll in the subjects with lacking units, they agree that whatever units they have earned in the College of Law shall be forfeited, and can only by allowed to enroll in the College of Law, as 1st year, 1st semester student, upon submission of their passing grades.

The applicant must submit, for purposes of the entrance examination, the following documents:

  1. Original College Transcript of Scholastic Records (If the applicant is graduating the current year, he/she must submit an official copy of the temporary transcript of records containing the grades from first year to the 2nd semester of the last year in college prior to graduation);
  2. Two (2) pieces each of 2×2 and 1×1 ID pictures with red background;
  3. Certificate of Good Moral Character from the school last attended or present employer;
  4. Original NSO Birth Certificate;
  5. Payment of Application and Examination Fee; and
  6. Duly accomplished application form.
  7. The requirements must be accomplished/submitted at least one (1) week before the examination day. The applicant shall take the entrance examination administered by the UNP Admission Services.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS AND LATE REGISTRATION[2]

The enrollment process begins with the issuance of the Registration Form upon payment of local council fees and ends with the submission of the same form after payment of school fees.

A student is deemed officially enrolled upon completion of the entire enrollment process.

Students who are not officially enrolled shall not be admitted in class.

Late enrollment may be allowed at the discretion of the Dean, but classes missed due to late enrollment shall be marked as absences.

ATTENDANCE[3]

Every student is required to attend no less than 80% of the class hours required for every course to earn the corresponding credits. The maximum hours of absences allowed per course in terms of hours as follows:

Students who exceed the maximum allowable number of absences for a semester shall be given a grade of “dropped” (Unofficially dropped), unless before the midterm examination period he drops the subject with the approval of the Dean, in which case he will be given a grade of “OD” (Officially Dropped).

Absences will be counted from the first day of classes. Thus, time lost by late enrollment shall be considered as time lost by absences.

TARDINESS[4]

A student who reports to class 15 minutes after the professor has started the class or called the roll shall be marked absent.

LEAVE OF ABSENCES[5]

A student who desires to take a leave of absence should write a letter addressed to the Dean stating thereof the reason/s for the leave as well as the period of the leave which must not exceed a total of a school year.

RETURNING STUDENTS[6]

A student who wishes to be readmitted after a leave of absence must file a written request for re-admission addressed to the Dean and must attach an original copy of his Temporary Transcript issued by the Registrar’s Office of UNP.

Re-admission after more than one (1) year of absence shall be subject to the Dean’s discretion and other conditions as he may prescribe.

TRANSFEREES[7]

One who wants to transfer to the College of Law, in addition to the admission requirements, must comply with the following requisite:

  1. He/she must not be disqualified under the rules on debarment;
  2. He/she must not have failed twice in the same major subject;
  3. Must not be a graduating student on enrollment.

DROPPING OF COURSE/S[8]

No Student may drop the same course more than once and any dropping of course must be made within the prescribed period shall not be recognized. No requests for dropping shall be allowed once the midterm examinations have started.

A student who drops any course without the required approval shall be given a failing grade of “UD” (Unofficially Dropped), which is equivalent to 5.0.

CROSS ENROLLMENT[9]

No student will be allowed to cross enroll in any law course whether within or outside of UNP.
