Having able to withstand years of hardwork and grueling pressure coupled with the challenges this pandemic brought proves that you are indeed sui generis of our generation. Nothing could stop you then from persevering through the ups and downs of law school, and we believe that nothing can stop you now from finishing the race towards the fulfillment of your calling – to be a lawyer.
Our dear barristers, the Juris Doctor IV class believes, dreams and fights with you. Reaching this point in your lives is already a feat worth celebrating. Just hold on a little longer until you get the “dot” and we cannot wait to finally call you, with overwhelming gladness, “Attorney.”

Ignore the uncertainties brought about by this pandemic, tune them out. Shut out the outside world and imagine yourself swimming in a bubble of confidence, focus, and calm. Believe that everything you have read and studied had been embedded in your mind and that you can access every detail at the appropriate time.
Give everything you have in these few weeks of bar preparation so that when you look back on these experiences, you will feel no regrets.
Thomas Shack, a law lecturer said and quote, ” The bar examination is simple two days out of the many years of hardwork, preparation and determination. When you walk through those doors, remember that you are a Juris Doctor and nothing will ever change that fact. So take a deep breath, write like a lawyer and cross the finish line confidently!

As you hurdle the last mile, it does not matter if you run or if you crawl, what matters is you finish. It does not matter whether you are first or you are last, what matters is you will make it. Do not be afraid of anything because you have done everything to the best of your abilities.
Take time to trust in yourself, as we trust in you. May the #bestbarever bring out the best in you. We are with you in prayers as we await for the moment that you reap the fruits of your labor.

Life has changed for the past two years and since then, we’ve heard how loud the unknown is. But despite all of these difficulties, we constantly strive to survive and continue moving forward towards our goals.
To our hardworking barristers, in this season of change where you find yourself unsure, I hope hopelessness and fear do not have places in your hearts. Allow faith to guide and strengthen you as you go along with the rigorous examination. Trust the wait, embrace the uncertainty. Remember, this moment is a part of your adventure as you vie and reach for your dreams as lawyers. Confidently take one step at a time, and soon, you’ll get there. Good luck and praying for your success!

“This pandemic has posed countless challenges we haven’t faced before. We were constrained to stay at home and study law online. However, we have shown our unyielding desire to get that ‘ATTY’ and refused to settle for less. The pandemic failed to stop us from striving and pursuing. Enkindled by the passion to reach our dreams, we fought back the urge to throw the white towel in and we remained steadfast amidst the barricades and odds along this journey. That is bravery and courage enfleshed!
To you, our bar candidates, all the preparations you’ve went through led you to this one last challenge. Arm yourself with prayer and hope, confidence and persistence. We the UNP College of Law extend our well wishes to all of you and we fervently pray for your success. We believe in you! Be lawyers! Let’s show them what you’ve got! Viva!”

The UNP College of Law community was able to come up and produce a pro hac vice bar kit for our 2020/21 bar examinees. Along with the essentials, the first wave of kits contains the first production of the “Balligi Notes” – a compiled reviewer covering the following four sets of examination topics: (1) The Law Pertaining to the State and Its Relationship with Its Citizens (formerly Political Law, Labor Law, and Taxation Law); (2) Criminal Law; (3) The Law Pertaining to Private Personal and Commercial Relations (formerly Civil Law and Commercial Law); and (4) Procedure and Professional Ethics (formerly Remedial Law, Legal Ethics, and Practical Exercises). The next wave of bar kits will be sent to our bar examinees in the succeeding days.
All of these would not be possible without the unending support of our dean, assistant dean, faculty members (past or present), juris doctor students, the law student government, and sponsors.
